Ram Charan’s controversial visit to Kadapa Dargah

Global Star Ram Charan’s visit to Kadapa Dargah in Andhra Pradesh turned out to be a major controversy. The staunch devotees of Ayyappa Swami are finding fault with the visit of Ram Charan to Kadapa Dargah. They argue that it was totally inappropriate for the film star to visit Dargah while he was in Ayyappa mala deeksha.
The Ayyappa devotees’ association has organised a press conference in Hyderabad on November 20 and demanded the actor to express apologies for his lapse in visiting a dargah while in deeksha. They found fault with removal of his Ayyappa deeksha tilak during his visit to the dargah.
AR Rehman angle:
The devotees’ association went to the extent of blaming his visit as the ‘conspiracy’ by AR Rehman and the dargah management to boost the ‘sagging’ importance of the Kadapa dargah. The devotees’ association questioned whether it would be possible to Ram Charan to bring AR Rehman, who himself is a religious convert to Islam, to Shabarimala in deeksha to prove his equality towards all religions. They blamed that they only preach and not practice.The association demanded unconditional apology from Ram Charan for the religious lapse he allegedly committed.
Upasana dismisses allegations:
However, Ram Charan’s wife Upasana Konidela dismissed the allegations as unwarranted and added that they respect all religions and it was not right to find fault with her husband’s visit to a dargah, while in Ayyappa deeksha. Hope people take it in right spirit and end the controversy.
It may be noted that Ram Charan’s movie Game Changer is slated for release on the auspicious occasion of Sankranti in 2025 and the music for the film is scored by AR Rehman.
